Triumph Announces Inaugural Thruxton Cup Challenge Champion Ted “Cannonball” Cobb Thrills Crowd With Cup Win (Pueblo, CO) – Triumph Motorcycles (America) Ltd. announced that Cumming, Georgia’s Ted “Cannonball” Cobb, won the inaugural Triumph Thruxton Cup Challenge with a victory at Pueblo Motorsports Park in Colorado on September 11, 2005. Throughout the entire season, consistency was the name of the game, as Cobb racked up seven wins out of the first nine Thruxton Cup races. Cobb, who works as a Sales Manager for Moto Britalia explained, “This series is a great place to race the Thruxtons. In an effort to keep costs down while maintaining a high level of competition, the series is exclusively limited to the Triumph Thruxton 900. The Thruxton’s 865cc, twin cylinder power plant is the most powerful of Triumph’s twin-cylinder line up.
