DUBLIN, Ohio American motorcycle manufacturing giant Harley-Davidson and their Sportster model will be the featured marque at the thirteenth-annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, July 27-29 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. This two-wheeled festival at the Lexington, Ohio facility will put the spotlight on some of the greatest icons of Harley-Davidson, both living and mechanical. On the 50th anniversary of its introduction, the Harley-Davidson Sportster and related models are the official marque, with special activities planned to highlight this classic motorcycle. To continue the orange-and-black theme, two living legends in the Harley-Davidson world, Willie G. Davidson and Jay “Springer” Springsteen, have been named Grand Marshals. In addition to Harley-Davidson themed events, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days will also feature three vintage bike shows, the largest motorcycle swap meet in North America, new-bike demo rides, stunt shows, seminars, an array of vendors featuring new products from top manufacturers and dealers, and the annual Motorcycle Hall of Fame Auction of motorcycles and memorabilia. While a multitude of off-track activities will keep spectators busy, a full slate of American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association action will be on-track, including road racing, motocross, flat-track and trials. The on-track competitions are expected to draw more than 1,500 competitors. A comprehensive motorsports facility, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course features a permanent road-racing circuit with two primary configurations: a 2.4-mile, 15-turn, and a 2.25-mile, 13-turn circuit. The park-like, 330-acre complex in Lexington, Ohio also features an amateur motocross venue. Located 60 miles north of Columbus and 75 miles south of Cleveland near Mansfield, the track has been called the most competitive in the U.S. and annually hosts a diversity of locally, regionally and nationally sanctioned racing events for amateur, club and professional riders and drivers. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, TrueSports, Incorporated is a privately held motorsports entertainment enterprise. The company owns and operates Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, and promotes a wide variety of motor racing, driver instruction, corporate, and family entertainment events throughout the year.
