Trent Ferris Wildomar, California More, from a press release issued by Fernando Barbosa: US Rider to appear as wildcard in 250cc MotoGP @ Indy Longevity Racing announces Barret Long (Miami, FL) to race as a wild card on 250cc Moto GP @ Indianapolis. Barret Long will be piloting a 250cc Yamaha on the fiercely 250cc dispute at Indy on September 12-14. Long a mid 20’s racer from South Florida, who participates on CCS regional series and occasionally on FX / Supersport AMA races, has been given a wild card for the next Moto GP stop in the United States. Long has been testing his Yamaha 250 cc hoping to be up to par with the rest of the group. Long recently won the shoot out with a Ducati Miami / Desmoniacs/Toshiba 1098 on August 31st @ homestead. It is believe that the Long’s are having a hard time finding the right kit for their Yamaha to be up to par with the Aprillia’s, Gilera’s and KTM’s. Any help will be appreciated to bring their bike up to par as he is the only US rider feature on the highly acclaimed class. So far, Yamaha’s headquarters in the US is not willing to contribute with anything to bring that bike to competitive status their help will very much be appreciated by all supporters of this particular US pilot who will be representing the United States in its home turf.
