First-year Expert Greg Moore continued to shine Friday at the WERA Grand National Finals at Road Atlanta by taking two more race and Sportsman National Championship wins on his Michelin-shod Suzukis.

Riding a Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki GSX-R750, Moore ran away with the B Superbike race win by over 10 seconds. David Weber came from behind to pass Doug Duane on the last lap to claim second. Australian Ben Attard, riding in a tryout for Corona Extra Suzuki/Ebsco Media team, came from behind to finish fourth.

In the A Superstock race, Moore led lap one on his Buzz’s Psycle Suzuki GSX-R1000, but Vesrah Suzuki’s Mark Junge controlled the middle of the eight-lap race. Junge, who later said he was testing new Pirelli tires, ran wide at the exit of turn 12 to complete lap four, and that was all Moore needed to re-take the lead and hold it to the checkered flag. EDR Racing’s John Dugan passed Junge on the final lap to finish second; Junge finished third.

Junge’s teammate Tray Batey, 43, rode his Suzuki TL1000R to his third consecutive Sportsman Heavyweight Twins Championship by beating Aprilia Mille-mounted Frank Shockley by 11 seconds. Scott Brown took third.

Smith Brothers Harley-Davidson’s Shaun Fields won the C Superbike National title on a Yamaha over Jason Temme and 20-year-old Texan Logan Young.

Bradley Champion pulled away from the strong challenge of first-year Expert Martin Musil to win the Lightweight Twins race on a Suzuki SV650. Jeff Walker took third.

Fred Bittner, 43, won the Heavyweight Twins Novice National Championship race by five seconds on a Fast By Ferracci Ducati 996 Superbike. Eddie Kraft finished second on a Suzuki SV650, while John Berry took third on a Honda RC51.

Kraft came back to win the Lightweight Twins Novice race and title over Bo Morgan, Jr. and Joel Laroche.
