Technical Bulletin #2007-02 To: All SunTrust MOTO-ST Series Competitors Effective Date: Immediately Subject: Addition to the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series Eligible Motorcycles List SunTrust MOTO-ST Series has approved the use of the Buell XBRR frame for competition immediately, in the GST and ST classes. Buell Racing has in stock 10 XBRR frames part # L0132.06AH. The frame is priced using the standard dealer and retail price for XB frames. Dealers can contact Buell Racing via their email address: [email protected] or by phone at: (262) 642-2020, ext. # 336 to place their orders for this frame. The frame is a direct replacement for an XB9 or XB12. All stock components, i.e. swingarm, shock, front forks and triple clamps and all related pieces will bolt on without any modification. The fuel capacity is of the RR frame is 4.2 gallons. This chassis is based on the Ulysses dual sport machine, but with the correct shock location to match the street oriented equipment used to complete the XB street machines. The purpose of the frame update is to allow for a larger fuel tank size; since gas resides in the frame of the Buell, they cannot change their capacity; the current, approved Buell machines hold 3.9 U.S. gallons, while the XBRR holds 4.2 U.S. gallons. Other brands are permitted to modify their tanks to reach the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series mandated capacity. While this rules change will help with Buell’s fuel capacity concerns, this change still does not bring the Buell all the way up to the 4.5 gallon capacity enjoyed by other GST class entries.
