American Racing Team Lineup Finalized for 2021

Los Angeles, CA (November 6, 2020) — With only 3 rounds left in the 2020 season, the American Racing Team is pleased to announce its official lineup for 2021. Marcos Ramirez will continue with the team in 2021 and hopes to be a strong Championship contender going into his second season. Ramirez will be joined in the paddock by five-time MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier.

Former MotoGP rider John Hopkins will continue his role as Racing Director with the team and will be working with both Riders.

The team will continue to use the Kalex chassis in 2021 and looks to build upon the successful partnership in pursuit of a World Championship.

Current Moto2 rookie Ramirez, who has put together an impressive rookie season and steadily improved his performance to consistently finish in the points, will look to take the next step in 2021.

Ramirez: “ I’m very happy for the season so far. We improved a lot and working step by step to achieve our goals for this season, to carry on with the same crew and same material will be a key point to get closer to the top of the World Championship next year.”

Beaubier will make his Moto2 debut in Qatar in March 2021. The 27-year old American comes to the American Racing Team from MotoAmerica where he has won five superbike championships, the latest coming in dominating fashion in 2020.

Beaubier: “Obviously, I have a lot to learn. My learning curve is going to be pretty steep. I have to re-learn all the tracks, learn the bike, meet a new team and stuff like that, but I’m ready for it. I think it’s definitely a great opportunity for me to get back in Europe.”

Eitan Butbul: “We are very happy with the new 2021 lineup which allows us to continue to work with Marcos Ramirez on his progress, and hopefully fight for the top next season. At the same time, I am very excited to have Cameron join the team on a two-year deal and fulfill the team’s commitment to bring strong American riders back to the MotoGP paddock. Cameron is a great guy and very strong rider, and we will provide him everything we can, on and off, the track to help him adapt quickly and be at the front at the beginning of the season.”

Hopkins: “I’m so excited for this upcoming 2021 season! After seeing Marcos Ramirez’s constant improvements over the course of this season, I’m very confident we’ll see him fighting at the front and he definitely has the potential to be a strong Championship contender all throughout 2021. As for Cameron Beaubier joining the team, I think it’s amazing news, not only for us here at American Racing but also the Championship and sport itself within America. I honestly commend him for taking on the challenge, and I strongly believe he has the talent and potential to succeed. There’s no question it will be a steep learning curve and require a lot of hard work from both him and all the team, but if we set realistic goals and expectations, I have no doubt we’ll see him reach each and every goal and see a constant progression until we see Cameron fighting at the front alongside Marcos.”

The former MotoGP rider, John Hopkins, and team boss Eitan Butbul will continue to push and support the American Racing Academy program in the US.

The American Racing Academy was designed and launched to provide young talented American riders with the training, support and tools to improve their skills and prepare them for a potential career racing at the sport’s highest level, and provide them the opportunities to showcase their talent with the American Racing Team in the MotoGP paddock.

About the American Racing Team

The American Racing Team is owned by Eitan Butbul and Avner Kass and competes in the MotoGP World Championship. For 2020, the team currently fields two riders in the Moto2 class: American Joe Roberts (#16) and Spaniard Marcos Ramirez (#42). And standing at the respectful 7th position at the championship.

The team is the only American team in the MotoGP series and featuring an American Rider. The team has grown under the guidance of Eitan Butbul and is a respected part of the MotoGP world championship paddock.

The team owns and manages a racing academy in the US in partnership with the former American MotoGP rider John Hopkins.
