Bennetts, the UK’s No.1 bike insurance specialist, today announces its sponsorship of rising British star Scott Redding, one of the best riders of his generation. At just 15 years 170 days Scott became the youngest ever winner of a GP and now, less than three years later, the 18 year old continues to showcase his talents on the world stage in the Moto2 GP Championship. The MarcVDS Racing Team rider has been hotly tipped as a title contender by some of the industry’s great names including Kevin Schwantz. The Moto2 series is just one step down from the top level of the sport, MotoGP. Scott will wear the Bennetts logo on the chest of his race leathers and will represent Bennetts at a number of events over the season, including an appearance at The Thundersprint in Northwich at the beginning of May. He will be joining the two-time World Superbike champion, James Toseland, as a Bennetts sponsored rider, who has been supported by Bennetts since 2007 although is currently nursing a badly injured wrist. Hannah Squirrell, Director of Marketing at Bennetts commented, “We’re delighted to be have reached an agreement with such an incredible and young British talent and we look forward to supporting Scott as he continues his impressive progress towards, and throughout his career at, the very pinnacle of the sport.” Marc VDS Team Manager Michael Bartholemy said, “Scott is totally focused on his title challenge for 2011 and does so whilst proudly wearing the Bennetts logo.” Make sure to check out Redding at Silverstone in the British round of the Moto2 GP Championship on 12th June where Bennetts will be backing their boy!
