American Moto2 World Championship racer Joe Roberts underwent successful surgery to plate his broken left collarbone Tuesday at the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus, in Barcelona, Spain.

Roberts suffered the injury when he crashed his Italtrans Racing Kalex during wet Moto2 Free Practice Two on Friday, October 22 at Misano World Circuit – Marco Simoncelli.

He underwent the surgery in hopes of returning to action at the next round of the Moto2 World Championship, November 5-7 at Algarve International Circuit, in Portugal, according to a press release issued by his team.

“Surgery to fix the fractured collarbone went well!” Roberts reported earlier today on his social media pages. “In recovery mode now looking to come back as soon as possible. Thank you for the support!”
