NOTIFICATION OF SANCTION

To: Romano FENATI, No. 13 of the Moto2 Class

Dear Sir,

According to the Sporting Rules of the 2018 FIM GP World Championship Regulations and the FIM Disciplinary and Arbitration Code, we inform you that a sanction has been inflicted upon you.

Motive

On 09 September 2018 at 12:52 during the Moto2 Race of the GRAN PREMIO OCTO DI SAN MARINO E DELLA RIVIERA DI RIMINI at the exit of turn 6, you were found to have deliberately attempted to cause danger to another rider by interfering with his machine whilst on track.

This contravenes Article 1.21.2 of the FIM World Championship Grand Prix Regulations “Riders must ride in a responsible manner which does not cause danger to other competitors or participants, either on the track or in the pit lane. It is therefore an infringement of the FIM World Championship Grand Prix Regulations. This is considered a serious offense.

Sanction

For the above reasons and considering the seriousness of the infraction, the FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel has imposed on you a penalty of suspension from the next two (2) FIM GP World Championship Moto2 races. (in accordance with articles 3.2.1 and 3.3.2.3)

Right of Appeal

According to Articles 3.4.2, 3.4.6, and 3.4.7 of the FIM World Championship Grand Prix Regulations, you have the right to appeal against this decision of the MotoGP Stewards Panel to the FIM Appeal Stewards. A statement of appeal must be made within 30 minutes from the date and time of this notification, and accompanied by a security deposit of €1320. The appeal can be lodged with IRTA who may also arrange for guarantee of the security deposit payment.

Sincerely,

FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel
