Moto3: Alonso Takes Pole Position At Jerez

David Alonso took pole position during Moto3 World Championship qualifying Saturday at Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, in Spain. Riding his Gaviota Aspar Team CFMOTO, the 18-year-old Colombian did a 1:44.954 around the 2.7-mile (4.4 km) course to top the field of 26 riders.

David Munoz was the best of the rest with a 1:45.174 on his BOE Motorsports KTM, and Collin Veijer captured the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:46.013 on his Liqui Moly Intact GP Husqvarna.
