(Altus, OK) Altus Motorsports is thrilled to announce its plans for the upcoming season. After a challenging 2023, the team is entering the new year with renewed vigor, bolstered by a strong crew, a new rig, and an impressive rider lineup.
In 2024, Altus Motorsports will focus its efforts on the MotoAmerica Supersport class, consolidating its entries with three Suzuki GSX-R750s. This strategic decision will streamline the team’s operations, enhancing knowledge and optimizing parts utilization.
The rider lineup for the 2024 season is a perfect combination of seasoned experience and promising young talent. Jaret Nassaney will return for his third season on the Suzuki GSX-R750. Nassaney showcased remarkable progress two years ago, but faced challenges in the first half of last year. However, he regained his momentum by the end of the season, laying a solid foundation for a successful 2024 campaign.
Joining Nassaney is Jake Lewis, who secured the Stock 1000 Championship and the Superbike Cup for Altus Motorsports in 2021. Lewis, known for his exceptional skills and positive attitude, will pilot one of the Suzuki GSX-R750s in the Supersport class. His wealth of experience and knowledge will be invaluable assets to the team.
Additionally, Altus Motorsports welcomes the talented young Canadian rider, Torin Collins, to the team. Collins, with a racing career spanning from Alberta to the USA to Europe, has competed in the Moto3 Junior World Championship overseas in recent years. Returning to North America, Collins will compete in the MotoAmerica Supersport class aboard the third Altus Motorsports GSX-R750, bringing a fresh perspective and determination to the team. Torin raced a one-off round at COTA this past season and put it on the podium. He will be a force in 2024!
Jaret Nassaney shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “I can’t wait to get the 2024 season underway. The Supersport class is going to be highly competitive, and we need to bring our A-game. With Boyd and Murph supporting me, I’m ready for the challenge. It’s exciting to be teammates with the snake again. 2024 is going to be the best season yet, not just for me but for MotoAmerica as well!”
Jake Lewis expressed his excitement about rejoining Altus Motorsports, saying, “I’m thrilled to be back with Altus Motorsports for the 2024 season. After our Stock 1000 Championship, I maintained a close connection with the team. While filling in last year in Supersport was enjoyable, I’m now ready to fully commit with a strong team. It has been 10 years since I fought for a Supersport championship, and I’m determined to give it everything I’ve got.”
Torin Collins, the newest addition to the team, shared his eagerness for the challenge, stating, “I’m super stoked to take on this new challenge in the MotoAmerica Supersport class with Altus. As a newcomer to this bike and these tracks, having an experienced team like Altus by my side is crucial. Combining my European experience with the team’s hard work, I believe we’ll be frequent podium contenders this season!”
Janette Nassaney, Team Co-Owner, expressed her excitement for the 2024 season, saying, “I am so excited for the team we have put together for this 2024 season. We are determined to be a force this year. Having Jake and Jaret back together will be wonderful as they push and support each other on and off the track. I am happy that Torin brings a fresh perspective and his amazing talent to our team. We have worked really hard to rebuild after our loss last season, but I’m confident that between our amazing crew and riders, we will have a wonderful season in the most competitive class MotoAmerica has seen in years!”
George Nassaney, Team Co-Owner, reflected on the previous year’s challenges and expressed optimism for the upcoming season, saying, “Last year was undoubtedly a challenging period for us. However, I’m glad it’s behind us, and I’m sincerely looking forward to 2024. By the end of the previous season, we had rebuilt a solid core crew and added key individuals to our team. Focusing solely on the Supersport class will make a significant difference for us, simplifying our operations. Jake’s presence will elevate our entire team, both on and off the track. Jaret finished the previous season strongly, and I’m excited to witness his performance this year. Furthermore, the addition of Torin ensures that we have three formidable riders on the grid.”
