Andrew Lee To Make MotoAmerica Superbike Debut At Barber Motorsports Park

Arden, NC – September 8, 2020 – Two-time MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Champion Andrew Lee will make his MotoAmerica Superbike debut at round seven of the 2020 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship, which takes place at Barber Motorsports Park on September 18 through 20. Lee will be aboard the number 14 Superbike Unlimited Franklin Armory Kawasaki ZX-10RR. The announcement was made by Freddy Carswell, owner of Superbike Unlimited, which is a bricks-and-mortar and online retailer of motorcycle racing components, parts, accessories, and service based in Arden, North Carolina.

“We’re really happy to have the opportunity to work with Andrew,” Carswell said. “We’re confident that we’ve built a very capable Kawasaki ZX-10RR Superbike, and we know Andrew has the racing skills to match it. We successfully completed our first test with Andrew at Barber Motorsports Park this past weekend at a track day hosted by Sportbike Track Time, and we’re very happy with the progress we’ve made, as well as the talent that Andrew has shown.

“We can’t thank our partners Franklin Armory, RiderzLaw, Appalachian Electric & Generator, and uscoindepot.com enough for showing their passion for our sport and getting involved with our program.”

Lee commented, “I’m very excited for this opportunity to compete in my first MotoAmerica Superbike race at Barber Motorsports Park. Working with Freddy and the whole Superbike Unlimited team is great. I’m very thankful to have them and all my other sponsors onboard for this race. Without them, this wouldn’t be possible.

“We had a solid two-day test to acclimate to the Superbike. There’s still a lot to learn, but I’m excited to take on the task, with a good support crew in Superbike Unlimited.

I’d like to thank everyone who is helping to make this opportunity possible: Franklin Armory, CoolBreeze, RiderzLaw, Wonder CBD, Kawaguchi Corporation, and Dr. Farr Racing. Also, a big thank you to Freddy Carswell and the whole Superbike Unlimited crew for helping to put this team together at such short notice.”

Superbike Qualifying Practice 1 begins at Barber Motorsports Park on Friday, September 18 at 11:20 AM Central. Superbike Superpole is on Saturday, September 19 at 11:15 AM Central, Superbike race one will go green later on Saturday at 3:15 PM Central, and Superbike Race 2 is on Sunday September 20, also at 3:15 PM Central.

Both Superbike races will be broadcast LIVE on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) and also on Eurosport. In addition, all of the Superbike Qualifying Practices, Superpole, and both races will be streamed on MotoAmerica Live+.
