Belgian rider Levi Badie will start this weekend’s two MotoAmerica Junior Cup races from pole position at New Jersey Motorsports Park, in Millville, New Jersey. Badie recorded a 1:30.790 on his Badie Racing Kawasaki Ninja 400 during Qualifying One (Q1) on Friday, then crashed on the next lap, and was unable to continue in the session. But Badie’s lap time held up as fastest in the session, and rain during Qualifying Two (Q2) Saturday morning locked Badie in at the top.
Avery Dreher, the newly crowned 2023 Junior Cup Champion, qualified second with a 1:30.899 on Friday on his Bad Boys Racing Kawasaki, and Rossi Moor claimed the third and final spot on the front row with a 1:31.010 on his Fairium NGRT – Gray Area Racing KTM RC 390 R during Q1.
Riders qualifying on row two included SportbikeTrackGear.com Kawasaki’s Max Van (1:31.265), who is celebrating his 18th birthday at the track Friday; Team ECB/Bartcon Racing Kawasaki’s Eli Block (1:31.344); and Altus Motorsports Kawasaki’s Alessandro Di Mario (1:31.599).
Block was the quickest rider in the full-wet conditions of Q2. In fact, he was 2.711 seconds quicker than anyone else.
