Dallas Daniels Will Compete Aboard A Celtic HSBK Racing Yamaha At Pittsburgh

Liqui Moly Junior Cup Racer Back In Action After Missing Sonoma

SHAWNEE, OK (August 16, 2019) – After a one-race-weekend hiatus, Liqui Moly Junior Cup rider Dallas Daniels, who is currently ranked second in the 2019 points standings, will return to MotoAmerica competition at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace) next weekend, and he will be aboard the #69 Celtic HSBK Racing Yamaha YZF-R3. The announcement was made by Barry Gilsenan of Celtic Racing and Bobby Shek of HSBK Racing, who are the co-owners of the Celtic HSBK Racing team that also fields PJ Jacobsen in MotoAmerica Supersport competition.

Daniels will race the same bike that Sam Lochoff had been riding for the team until Lochoff suffered a fractured femur during a training crash at a racetrack in Florida prior to the MotoAmerica Championship of Monterey. The Celtic HSBK Racing R3 has been idle for the past two rounds while Lochoff continues to recover from his injury. Lochoff has given his blessing for Daniels to ride his bike at Pittsburgh.

At this past weekend’s MotoAmerica Cycle Gear Championship of Sonoma, Daniels and his previous team, Quarterley Racing/On Track Development, mutually agreed to part ways due to Daniels’ contractual obligations to Estenson Racing, the team he races for in the American Flat Track series.

Commenting on the situation, Daniels commented, “ I had talked to Dale (Quarterley) and (Quarterley Racing team principal) Bob Robbins at Sonoma about me racing at Pittsburgh, but they said that, since I would be missing the Sonoma round, there was no point in racing the rest of the season. I was pretty upset that I was going to have to be done with my road racing, so I contacted Celtic HSBK Racing, and we sat down at Sonoma and worked out a deal. And, since I race a Yamaha in AFT for Estenson Racing, I got (Yamaha Factory Racing principal) Keith McCarty’s blessing, too.

“I can’t thank Barry, Bobby, and the Celtic HSBK Racing team enough for this opportunity. I really appreciate them letting me race for them. Also, hats off to my buddy Sam (Lochoff) for putting me in touch with Barry and Bobby and helping me get this ride.”

Bobby Shek added, “We are excited to have Dallas on our bike next weekend. We have a strong R3, and we know the future of our sport depends on supporting young, talented riders. With Sam out with an injury, we are glad to have someone hop on the seat. We have nothing but respect for Bob Robbins and Dale Quarterley of Quarterley Racing, and we are excited to see what the generation of riders they are grooming can accomplish in the years to come.”

Heading into next week’s MotoAmerica Championship of Pittsburgh, Daniels is 76 points behind Championship leader Rocco Landers. Daniels won Liqui Moly Junior Cup race two at Utah Motorsports Park in June aboard the Quarterley Racing/On Track Development Kawasaki, and he has also tallied eight podium finishes out of the nine races that he has competed in thus far this season.
