Evol Technology to be title sponsor for Weir Everywhere Racing BMW at MotoAmerica Championship of Sonoma

Rider Travis Wyman aims to close gap in championship standings, highlight value of team’s on-track success to inside-the-industry sponsor

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — As the Weir Everywhere Racing BMW team prepares for the next round of the MotoAmerica series at Somona Raceway Aug. 10-12, it is pleased to announce Evol Technology LLC will be the team’s title sponsor for the event. The team has built a mutually-beneficial relationship with Evol Technology and is happy to highlight its partnership at the Championship of Sonoma. Both team rider Travis Wyman and crew chief Steve Weir have worked with Evol Technology LLC to perfect its products for BMW motorcycles.

Evol Technology LLC designs, develops, and manufactures precision mechanical products and prototypes, specializing in motorsports applications and prototyping services for the broader mechanical and industrial design community. Evol Technology LLC is based in Idaho, U.S.A. All of its products and services are 100-percent American made.

“We started working with Travis as one of our development riders several years ago and continued our relationship with Travis when he started his collaboration with Weir Everywhere Racing BMW this season,” said Evol Technology LLC owner and founder Steve Korol. “Travis has played a large role in developing and improving the quality of our products. He has great technical knowledge of the products he tests and has been instrumental in our development of our rear sets for the BMW S 1000 RR. Thanks to Travis’ feedback this season we have been able to develop rear sets for the team’s bike that maximize ground clearance without sacrificing rider comfort.”

California Superbike School has also increased its sponsorship of the Weir Everywhere Racing BMW effort for the Championship of Sonoma.

“I am excited to get back to racing at Sonoma and am grateful for the increased support this weekend from Evol Technology LLC,” Wyman said. “My team has worked really hard to give me a great bike to ride every race. I am aiming to score my third win of the 2018 season at the Championship of Sonoma, which would not be possible without Evol Technology stepping up this weekend.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Evol for the past several years and they have been avid supporters of my racing career. I am delighted that our team can highlight the special and mutually-beneficial relationship we have with Steve Korol and everyone else at Evol Technology LLC.

“I also want to thank California Superbike School for increasing their support of the Weir Everywhere Racing BMW program for the round at Sonoma. I will be using the same techniques I teach as an instructor at the school to put my team’s BMW S 1000 RR back on top of the box.”

The team will be aiming to continue its championship hunt on Sonoma Raceway’s 2.52-mile, undulating road course. Weir’s experience racing and tuning at the track should help him get the team’s BMW S 1000 RR package dialed in quickly for Wyman.

“The whole team is super excited to get our BMW S 1000 RR package back out on track,” Weir said. “I have lots of time racing at Sonoma Raceway, as well as tuning BMWs there. Travis has been training hard for this event and I know he is ready to take another on-track step forward in our championship chase. Sonoma Raceway is a real rider’s track and Travis’ proven chemistry with our BMW package gives us an edge on our competition heading into the weekend.

“I am also happy to have Evol Technology LLC come onboard as the team’s title sponsor for the Championship of Sonoma. I have been working with Evol on designing products for BMW motorcycles and they are a great group of individuals to work with. Our MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Class program has helped them with their product development and I look forward to continuing our working relationship with them.”

Wyman currently sits in second place in the MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Class standings and is one of only two riders that have a realistic opportunity to win the class’ inaugural title.

MotoAmerica is now live streaming its Stock 1000 Class races on Facebook Live. Tune in at 7:30 p.m. Eastern/4:30 p.m. Pacific at www.facebook.com/motoamerica to watch the team contend for the race win.
