Fan Activities Aplenty At Sonoma Raceway
Tons To Do For Every Age Group With MotoAmerica
COSTA MESA, CA (August 1, 2017) – With five MotoAmerica classes scheduled to battle twice plus the AFM racing their lightweight formula machines and the North American Sidecar Challenge, the on-track action for round seven of the 2017 MotoAmerica Series at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California, August 11-13, is virtually non-stop. But there’s more as the off-track activity for the MotoAmerica Championship at Sonoma Raceway also promises to entertain.
Off-site, the activities begin on Thursday night with the Moto Guild Bike Night Kick-Off Party at Moto Guild, which is located at 849 13th Street in San Francisco, from 5 to 9 p.m.
From the time you enter Sonoma Raceway in the heart of Northern California’s wine country and hand off your gear to the Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorney’s Free Helmet and Leather Check until you pick it up at day’s end, the action is non-stop. In addition to the J&P Cycles Marketplace that’s open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, the action begins early and stays late.
On Friday, those with VIP Full Throttle Ticket Packages get Escorted Pit Access during Motul Superbike Qualifying as well as Escorted Pit Access during the weekend’s Superbike races. Saturday’s off-track action gets rolling with the XDL Championship Qualifying session at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. where you can get your first look at the world’s best freestyle riders.
Saturday also features the Parts Unlimited Fan Appreciation Stage where fans can get up close and personal with their favorite riders during chats scheduled for throughout the weekend, beginning with the first chat at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
The XDL Championship gets rolling in earnest at high noon on Saturday with the first round of their competition. That will be followed at 5:30 p.m. with the XDL Championship & Sportbike Freestyle Finals that closes out the day at Sonoma Raceway.
In between all that, fans can get their photo taken at the Yamalube #LeanWithUs Photo Booth and the kids can get up to speed with the free Family Fun & Strider Adventure Zone, which is open all weekend from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. And there’s also the Dunlop Paddock Autograph Session and a performance from the Green Man Group from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. At 5:10 p.m., Cycle Corral Ticket Holders will get the chance to take to the same track as their favorite racers during the Parade Lap.
On Saturday night, fans can stick around Sonoma Raceway for a free concert featuring The Nocturnal Affair and Queens of Noise from 8 to 10 p.m.
On Sunday, we do it all again with more Parts Unlimited Appreciation Stage Chats, the Dunlop Hot Pit Walk and Autograph Session (at 12:40 p.m.) and an XDL Stunt Show on the front straight from 1:15 to 1:25 p.m.
