Double podium weekend for Gloddy at New Jersey Motorsports Park
Back on the east coast after MotoAmerica’s brief stint in Washington State at The Ridge, race one of the MotoAmerica Liqui-Moly Junior Cup class at New Jersey Motorsports Park kept fans on the edge of their seats right to the finish line when Ben Gloddy of Quarterley Racing On Track Development was able to narrowly pull off a hard fought 3rd place finish.
Ben Gloddy:
“First, I can’t thank Dale Quarterley of Quarterley Racing enough for all of his hard work and making sure that I have the best bike on the grid. I am getting closer and closer to the next step on the podium and I owe it to my sponsors and team to keep progressing. I also want to thank Danny Walker and Robbie Petersen of American Supercamp for working with me in Colorado leading up to this event. We were able to spend a couple days really pinpointing some things I needed to correct and I definitely feel better on the bike. I truly feel I have the best coaches in my corner and I can’t leave out all of the instructors at Penguin Racing School, including Eric Wood and John Grush.”
In race two, Gloddy had a great start and was third going into turn one. The battle for second through fourth heated up quickly after Gloddy and Limandri were able to catch Lochoff, swapping positions multiple times throughout the entire race. With about two laps to go Gloddy was able to save a potential high side, he gathered himself quickly and latched back on to the other two riders. With less than a lap to go Lochoff had an unfortunate get off resulting in Gloddy having to check up a little, allowing Limandri to gain some ground. Coming onto to the straight-away for the final time, Gloddy got drafted at the line resulting in another insanely close 3rd place finish.
“Race two was another great race, it is fun being able to battle. Of course, I wish the outcome had been different, but I am happy with the weekend results. This was my first double podium weekend. The suspension was on point and felt great, thank you Tige Daane and Fast Bike Industries for working with me on a set up that works best for me. Thank you to all of my sponsors, including Arai Helmets, Fast by Ferracci, Scott Stump, Barnett Clutches, Yoshimura, American Supercamp, Penguin Racing School, Woodcraft, First Trax, Intertech, The Big S, Sergio, Freedom Cycle NH, REB Graphics, Innovative Motorsports, D’Andrea Foods, Roche Realty Group and everyone that make my racing career possible. I also want to say thank you my parents and family for all they do for me.”
Gloddy closed out round six at New Jersey Motorsports Park in fourth place for the championship season points, 29 points behind third and 30 points behind second. This weekend he heads to Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama.
