Former AMA Pro factory Superbike racer and winner of the 2011 Daytona 200 Jason DiSalvo will ride the Scheibe Racing BMW S1000RR Superbike in place of injured Sylvain Barrier during the MotoAmerica event this coming weekend at VIRginia International Raceway.

Barrier suffered broken ribs and internal bleeding when he crashed into an Airfence-fronted trackside barrier at high speed April 29 at Road Atlanta.

DiSalvo, age 33, last competed full-time in 2014, when he placed eighth in the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Championship with one race win on his Triumph Daytona 675R.

DiSalvo recently announced a new riding school, the Ride Academy.
