Genuine Broaster Chicken back on board as title sponsor for KWR team at Pittsburgh Round

WAMPUM, Pa.. (Aug. 21) — The KWR Ducati team heads to Pittsburgh International Race Complex this weekend for the eighth round of the MotoAmerica Superbike championship. Kyle Wyman will ride the #33 Genuine Broaster Chicken/SC Project/KWR Ducati Panigale V4 R while the team chases its first top-5 result of the season.

The KWR team has had a troublesome go at the last few rounds of the season while developing the new Panigale V4 R, but the team has high hopes for the Pittsburgh round as they tested there back in May for the first go on the new electronics system from Ducati Corse.

“My expectations are high for this weekend in Pittsburgh,” Wyman said. “The last few races have been difficult as we’ve faced some crashes, injury and mechanicals, but I know what this bike is capable of and I’m looking forward to returning to a track we’ve already ridden at on this new bike. We had a very good test here back in May, so those laps combined with our having a three-day event this weekend, should give us ample time to get this Ducati on a front running pace where it belongs.”

Pittsburgh is considered Wyman’s home race, only a 4-hour drive from his hometown of Macedon, N.Y.. With Genuine Broaster Chicken back on board as title sponsor, it’s an opportunity for team and sponsors to enjoy a race in their backyard.

After an untimely injury suffered at the Laguna Seca round on July 14th, Wyman rode injured at the Sonoma round but the scaphoid (navicular) bone is far more healed, and he says it should be a non-issue for the rest of the season.

“I look forward to Pittsburgh every year because I will have a lot of family and friends making the short drive down for the event,” Wyman added. “The attendance has grown and this event is one of my favorite on the schedule. The weather looks perfect for the weekend and I can’t wait to get rolling. I’ve been riding recently at the Champions Riding School and my wrist I feel is now fully healed. We should be banging on all cylinders again and our lessons learned over the summer will put us in a great position for the final three rounds.”

Practice begins at 11:20am EST Friday. All of the coverage can be found on the MotoAmerica Live+ app with Live race coverage on Fox Sports 2 (FS2)
