MotoAmerica Supersport Championship runner-up Hayden Gillim’s run at the Dunlop tire test came to a premature end when he crashed his RiCKdiculous Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 Tuesday morning at Barber Motorsports Park.
“I was coming down the hill over there after the tunnel,” Gillim exclusively told Roadracingworld.com, “and the rear came around on decel and highsided me pretty good. It was like Valentin’s [Debise] crash at Pittsburgh. It launched me pretty high and I smacked the ground pretty hard.”
Asked if he was done for the day, Gillim said, “Yeah, the bike’s pretty twisted up and I hurt everywhere. I’m going to get checked out right now to make sure I’m going to be OK to ride in the last two [American Flat Track] events.”
Gillim then got into a private vehicle and left the track to seek medical attention.
The crashed happened at around 11:00 a.m. local time and brought out a red flag.
Gillim caught a ride into the pits on the back of JD Beach’s RiCKdiculous Racing Yamaha.
