Costa Mesa, Calif. (October 16, 2014) — MotoAmerica, the new American road racing series, is pleased to announce the addition of Paul Carruthers as its Communications Manager. Carruthers, who is best known for his 30 years at the weekly motorcycle publication Cycle News, brings a wealth of journalistic experience to his new role as well as a lifetime of road racing involvement and strong relationships with key members of the motorcycle industry.

Carruthers’ ties to racing date back to a childhood spent in the road racing paddocks of the world as the son of 1969 250cc World Champion and two-time Isle of Man TT winner Kel Carruthers. That experience, combined with some 30 years as associate editor and editor of Cycle News and cyclenews.com, make Carruthers the perfect candidate to lead the communications strategy for MotoAmerica. As Communications Manager, Carruthers will provide timely, insightful, and accurate media communications to endemic media sources as well as to larger mainstream media in an effort to help educate, inform and ultimately help grow the awareness and the sport of American road racing.

“I am pleased and honored to have the opportunity to work with Wayne, Chuck and the entire MotoAmerica team,” said Carruthers. “I’ve covered American Superbike and international road racing since I started at Cycle News in 1985 and I’m excited to help bring U.S. road racing back to the level it deserves. It’s exciting to be involved with a group of knowledgeable, passionate and dedicated people striving to make the MotoAmerica Road Racing Championship the best road racing series it can be.”

Carruthers will officially take over the role of MotoAmerica Communications Manager on November 1, 2014 and will be based out of the KRAVE LLC/MotoAmerica offices in Costa Mesa, California.
