Mexican rider Richie Escalante was a close second with a 1:24.047 on his Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSX-R1000R.

In spite of riding with a broken right ankle, Josh Herrin was third-fastest with a time of 1:24.111 on his Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R.

The top six riders in the session were separated by just 0.245 second.
