The “Hayes Family Values Tour” Continues As Josh Hayes And Melissa Paris Will Both Race At Road America

Elkhart Lake, WI – May 30, 2019 – “If you want something to happen, sometimes you just have to will it to come true.” Those are the words of Melissa Paris, team owner of MP13 Racing as she announced that she and her husband Josh Hayes, the four-time AMA Superbike Champion, have secured the last-minute financial support they needed to compete at round four of the 2019 MotoAmerica Championship, which gets underway tomorrow at Road America.

Paris will compete in the Stock 1000 class aboard her #13 MP13 Racing Yamaha YZF-R1, and Hayes will be aboard the #4 MP13 Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 in the Supersport class.

Hayes, who currently has 83 all-time AMA race victories and is just three wins behind Miguel DuHamel, who tops the list with 86 victories, is really looking forward to racing at Road America, which is the “Mississippi Madman’s” favorite track.

“We had a successful weekend at VIR a few weeks ago,” Hayes said in reference to the two podium finishes he notched in Virginia. “We’re seventh in the points, even though I didn’t race at Road Atlanta, so hopefully racing this weekend at my favorite track will yield good results. I’m so happy that we got the needed support for both Melissa and I to race.”

Paris, who is currently ranked 16th in the Stock 1000 standings, even though she was only able to compete in one of the first two races this season, is very grateful for the support her team has received.

“We’re super-happy to have Beringer Brakes and Moto-D join our team,” Paris commented. “And, we’re also getting support from Ken Chewey at Omega Moto. Those new partners join our long-term partners Yamaha, Maxima Lubricants, Yoshimura R&D of America, Superbike Unlimited, Core Moto, Evol Technology, and Vet Motorsports. All together, they are the reason Josh and I will be able to race this weekend, and we are so grateful to have them with us.”

Paris and Hayes have also received a huge outpouring of support from fans across the country and around the world. “The fans are part of our team, too, and we’ve got plans to make that official,” Paris said. “We’re currently working on a fan club, and we’ll be making an announcement on that just as soon as we get all the details worked out.”

The Hayes Family hopes you’ll be at Road America this weekend to cheer them on, but if you can’t make it to Elkhart Lake, be sure to watch Supersport and Stock 1000 qualifying, along with both Supersport races and the Stock 1000 race on MotoAmerica Live+.
