A light mist falling at Barber Motorsports Park has resulted in few riders venturing out on track so far on the second day of the official MotoAmerica pre-season test.
Three Junior Cup riders went out for the Twins Cup/Junior Cup session at 8:00 a.m. local time, but none of the three completed a flying lap and one rider crashed in the final corner.
Since then, no other riders have gone out on the wet track.
MotoAmerica riders had ample opportunity to test their machines in wet and drying conditions on Day One, and then the track dried out, giving each of the three groups a dry session at the end of Tuesday.
Some riders are waiting and hoping for the track to dry out Wednesday, while others, like KWR Ducati’s Kyle Wyman, are packing up and leaving. Wyman will be defending his Daytona 200 crown on a N2 Racing/Bobbleheadmoto/KWR Yamaha YZF-R6 in the 79th Daytona 200 March 14 at Daytona International Speedway, so he’s getting an early start on his travels to Florida.
According to weather.com, the forecast for the Birmingham, Alabama area calls for increasing chances of thunderstorms as Wednesday goes on.
