Like A P-47 Thunderbolt Pilot, Mathew Scholtz Is Looking To Soar To Victory This Weekend At New Jersey Motorsports Park
Tulsa, OK – September 5, 2018 – The penultimate round of the 2018 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship starts this Friday at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey, and Mathew Scholtz and the Yamalube/Westby Racing team are looking forward to racing again at NJMP’s 12-turn, 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway.
Last year at NJMP, Mathew finished on the podium in MotoAmerica’s Superstock 1000 race one, and then he notched the class win in race two. He’s hoping for podium-reaching results again this weekend aboard the #11 Yamalube/Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike.
“We always look forward to racing at New Jersey Motorsports Park because of the great fans who come out to see us. It’s also a very special place for me because that’s where I clinched my first MotoAmerica Championship last year. And, for the sixth year in a row, I’ll be spending my birthday (on Sunday) at the racetrack. I can’t think of any other place I’d rather be.”
Superbike Qualifying Practice sessions begin on Friday, and Superbike Superpole (Qualifying) is on Saturday at 11:30 AM Eastern Time. Superbike Race 1 will go green on Saturday at 3:30 PM Eastern, and Superbike Race 2 is on Sunday (Mathew’s birthday) also at 3:30 PM Eastern.
Meet Mathew, Get An Autographed Poster, And More
Tonight, from 5 to 8 PM, Mathew will be on hand at Revzilla, 4020 South 26th Street in Philadelphia, to meet fans, sign autographs, and give away posters.
And then, on Friday night, from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, Mathew will join the Yamaha bLU cRU road racers at DHY Motorsports, 1300 Clements Bridge Road, in Deptford, New Jersey.
On Saturday from 12 to 12:45 PM, Mathew will be available for autographs at the Yamalube/Westby Racing transporter in the NJMP paddock during the Dunlop Paddock Autograph Session. The Dunlop Hot Pit Walk & Autograph Session, which takes place on pit lane at NJMP Sunday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, is another great opportunity to meet Mathew, get an autograph, and have your picture taken with the birthday boy. You can also get your picture taken with Lacy Contreras, the Yamalube/Westby Racing brand ambassador.
