Mathew Scholtz And Westby Racing Are Ready To Bring The Thunder To New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Thunderbolt Raceway This Weekend

Tulsa, OK – Round nine of the 2019 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship is this Saturday at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) in Millville, New Jersey. Mathew Scholtz and the Westby Racing team will compete in the two-day Championship of New Jersey on NJMP’s 12-turn, 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway.

Last year at NJMP, Mathew qualified on the pole, and then finished second in Saturday’s Superbike race one. On Sunday, he unfortunately crashed out of Superbike race two. He’s hoping for a pair of podium-reaching results this weekend aboard the #11 Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 Superbike.

Mathew, who was recently engaged to his long-time girlfriend Kiara Mattioda, is excited to race in front of the great fans at NJMP, and his mother Colleen and brother Dean will also be in attendance. “My brother Dean has never been to America to see me race, and he and my Mom will be at NJMP, so this is an extra-special race weekend for me,” commented Mathew. “The fans at New Jersey are really enthusiastic, so I’m hoping to put on a good show for them, my Mom and brother, and the Westby Racing team. It’s been a few races since we’ve been on the podium, so I’m extra-motivated to return to form and do well this weekend.”

Superbike race one will go green on Saturday at 3 PM Eastern Time, and Superbike race two is on Sunday also at 3 PM Eastern Time. Both races will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 2 (FS2) and streamed on MotoAmerica Live+.

Meet Mathew, Get An Autographed Poster, And More

The Dunlop Hot Pit Walk & Autograph Session, on Sunday from 12 to 12:45 PM on pit lane at NJMP, is a great opportunity to meet Mathew. He’ll be handing out free, autographed posters and other team items, and you can also get your picture taken with him, as well as with Lacy Contreras, the Westby Racing brand ambassador.
