Monster Energy/Yamalube Yamaha’s Cameron Beaubier, the two-time and defending MotoAmerica Superbike Champion, suffered a dislocated right shoulder during the MotoAmerica Motul Superbike/Bazzaz Superstock 1000 race Sunday, August 27 at Pittsburgh International Race Complex, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The injury occurred on the first lap of the six-lap restart of the race. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Roger Hayden was leading his teammate Toni Elias and Beaubier on the first lap when Beaubier passed Elias for second place on the inside of Turn 12.

Beaubier got on the throttle exiting the corner, his rear tire broke traction, his YZF-R1 bucked violently, and Beaubier rolled off the track and stopped. Beaubier did not crash.

After the race, Keith McCarty, Yamaha Motorsports Racing Division Manager told Roadracingworld.com that Beaubier suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder and was transported to a local hospital to have the shoulder joint put back in place and have the injury further evaluated.

McCarty said his team will send out updates on Beaubier as more information becomes available.

Roadracingworld.com reached out to Beaubier, but he did not respond prior to post time.
