Stefano Mesa, riding his Tytlers Cycle Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R, earned provisional pole position during MotoAmerica Supersport Qualifying One (Q1) Friday afternoon at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Mesa lapped the newly repaved four-mile circuit in 2:18.732, which was 0.619 second faster than the next-quickest rider.

Championship point leader Xavi Fores was the best of the rest with a 2:19.351 on his Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati NYC Panigale V2.

Teagg Hobbs earned the third and final spot on the provisional front row with a lap time of 2:19.370 on his Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSX-R750.

MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North America has made balancing adjustments to the Ducati Panigale V2 and Suzuki GSX-R750 via mapping changes this weekend. The details of those changes were not immediately available.

Jake Lewis has been enlisted to ride Disrupt Racing’s Suzuki GSX-R750 at Road America in place of injured Cory Ventura. Ventura crashed during the extended Supersport race at Barber Motorsports Park and broke his left leg. Lewis was sixth in Q1.
