Explanation Concerning Dallas Daniels’ Departure from the Quarterley Racing On Track Development

As our team has moved forward with the new lineup of riders, a lot of questions have come up regarding
the departure of Dallas Daniels, who was second in the MotoAmerica LIQUI MOLY Junior Cup points
standings prior to leaving the team just before the round at Sonoma Raceway.

Dallas Daniels was our star development rider leading up to Sonoma and was second in the points in the
LIQUI MOLY Junior Cup with more than just a mathematical chance of winning the championship with
eight races left on the schedule. His overall racecraft, with the help of Dale Quarterley’s boot camp style
coaching, improved drastically in 2019. Dallas was able to finish less than a half second behind the
winner in several races and was even able to take the victory ahead of the series points leader in one
race. Dallas had also signed with a major team for American Flat Track racing but could not go pro until
his sixteenth birthday in June. The handshake agreement with our team was that Dallas would compete
in the MotoAmerica series for the championship and do flat track only when the events did not conflict.
Due to a schedule change in the AFT series, Dallas was faced with making a choice on the day prior to
the MotoAmerica event at Sonoma Raceway when I found out about the conflict of AFT at Sacramento
that weekend. The choice for Dallas was to honor our handshake agreement and follow through with
the MotoAmerica Junior Cup Championship chase or to honor a written contract with his other sponsor,
which apparently did not include wording to have MotoAmerica as the default choice in a conflicting situation. At this time there will be three conflicting events.
Dallas will no doubt have major success in AFT, confirmed by his first pro win in the AFT Singles race in
Peoria in only his third event. He is an extremely talented rider in both disciplines and very mature for
his age. Unfortunately, he will not have the resume that he might have had by finishing at or near the
top of the 2019 MotoAmerica Junior Cup series while getting podium results in his debut pro season of
AFT. I personally truly do wish Dallas the best of success as he has already shown himself to be an
outstanding rider. I’m sure it was a hard decision for him to leave the team and it certainly left a void on
our end with sponsors, comradery and team dynamics. That said, we will continue with our mission
statement of supporting all our riders and working with them to develop the skills they need to get to
the front.
