Quarterley Racing/On Track Development’s Dallas Daniels will miss the Utah round due to injury

Dallas Daniels was having a great weekend of training and coaching at New Jersey Motorsports Park during a CCS event July 7-8. Winning two races Saturday with his teammate Jamie Astudillo taking second in both, Dallas crashed in a third race while battling for third place with the front runners on larger motorcycles. Unfortunately for Dallas, he suffered a wrist injury and recovery time will mean missing the MotoAmerica round July 21-22 at Utah Motorsports Campus.

Dallas’ progress has been steady with a third place finish in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup race at Laguna Seca, and the CCS event in New Jersey definitely paid off in spite of the injury. It was Dallas’ first time at the track and he was up to speed quickly.

As a team, we feel track time and coaching is vital, but of course it can come with a price, as we saw this weekend. The team wishes Dallas a fast recovery and will move forward the day he can get back in the saddle, keeping him fit and engaged in the team’s activity until then. At Utah, his teammate Jamie will carry the flag.

Under the circumstances, in a one-off Wild Card ride, Renzo Ferreira will join Jamie on a second bike. Renzo, 16, from Bridgewater, New Jersey, rode in the KTM RC 390 Cup in 2016 and has spent a lot of time on the smaller bikes. Renzo’s plans for racing in the European Championship in 300 and 600 classes were halted due to the sad news of the passing of Selby Jones, his primary sponsor.
