MotoAmerica Supersport racer Melissa Paris has launched a new fund-raiser campaign to supplement her sponsorship funding for the 2015 season, and the campaign is off to a good start, but more help is needed.

“It’s actually going really well,” Paris told Roadracingworld.com during the MotoAmerica event at VIRginia International Raceway. “I found that I had a deficit in funding to finish out the race season. So I partnered up with Dark Horse Pro, which is a new crowd-funding platform specifically for action sports athletes. So I’m working with them and we have some really cool rewards all the way from a signed hero card up to a private day riding flat track at our house. It’s been really cool. It’s been surprising the outpouring of support from fans. We’re almost to $10,000 after just four or five days. It’s cool to show up at a race and know that I have that many people behind me wanting to see me do well.”

As of Thursday, Paris’ campaign had raised $12,260 in pledges, that’s 40% of the way to her goal of $30,000 with 21 days remaining.

“I just hope we can keep the momentum going,” Paris continued. “It is an all-or-nothing campaign. So if we don’t get to $30,000 nobody’s credit card gets charged, no one gets any rewards and it’s like it never happened. So we definitely need to stay full throttle on it.”
