As the 2018 MotoAmerica series heads east for round 8 at the scenic Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PIRC) on August 24-26, the RBoM Racing team principals have been discussing many options. Although the last 3 MotoAmerica championship rounds are technically out of the team’s logistical jurisdiction, the team feels that the Twins Cup class, the most affordable class in the MotoAmerica Pro series, was not well supported on the west coast and the east coast boys need to step up and put bikes on the grid.
With the WERA/N2 Endurance series taking a break until early October, RBoM Racing is pleased to announce that 36 year old Knoxville, TN resident and current RBoM Endurance rider Chris Bays has entered the Twins Cup race at PIRC on his #621 RBoM Racing Suzuki SV650.
Bays started racing in 2015 and, with only a couple of years of racing under his belt, has become a consistent front runner at the club level and is ready for his next challenge. RBoM Endurance teammate and current Twins Cup championship points leader, #128 Ghetto Customs racer Chris Parrish, is Bays’ #1 target for the weekend as the two RBoM riders look to put on an exciting show for the MotoAmerica spectators.
Practice and qualifying take place Friday and Saturday next weekend, with the Twins Cup race taking place late Saturday afternoon. The team’s expectations are always high and, at a minimum, a Dustin Ducote-level performance should be achievable from the #621 Suzuki SV650. Bays is fully aware of the situation and has accepted the challenge.
