Tyler Scott set the fastest Supersport lap to take the provisional pole position for the Daytona 200 on Friday at Daytona International Speedway. Scott took his Suzuki GSX-R750 to a 1:48.962 lap, making him the only rider in the 1:48 bracket on Friday. Defending Daytona 200 Champion Josh Herrin was second on his Celtic/Economy Lube+Tire/Warhorse HSBK Ducati Panigale V2, a narrow 0.040-second back. Richie Escalante was third, making it a 1-3 for the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki squad, with Richard Cooper in fourth on his PHR Performance Triumph and Brandon Paasch in fifth on a TOBC Racing Triumph.
