Reigning MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Champion Andrew Lee is planning to defend his title in 2019 thanks to support from a new title sponsor, Franklin Armory.

“Franklin Armory has come on board to support me for the MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Championship,” Lee told Roadracingworld.com Tuesday. “I’m super excited to work with this company because they are super supportive of the American way. All of their parts and materials are American-made. It’s just part of their culture, and it’s a really good company to have behind me.”

Asked how the deal came about, Lee said, “I had some friends who connected me with the owner of Franklin Armory. The owner, Jay Jacobson, used to race in AFM back in the day. So he’s a big supporter of motorcycles and racing, and I think his company really fits well into the sport.”

According to its website, https://franklinarmory.com, Franklin Armory manufactures and sells Binary triggers and complete AR-style firearms for sporting, law enforcement, military applications. Many of Franklin Armory’s parts are manufactured in California, while final assembly of complete firearms is done in Nevada.

Considering the background of Franklin Armory’s owner, it appears that this could be a relationship that could continue into the future and eventually help propel Lee into the MotoAmerica Superbike class.

“Yeah, that’s the way we have been looking at it,” said Lee. “If all goes well this season we might be gearing up to go into MotoAmerica Superbike in 2020. I’m hoping we can continue the relationship.”
