Yamalube/Westby Racing’s Josh Day Wins MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 Race 1 At Road Atlanta
Braselton, GA – April 19, 2015 – With his pole-position start and victory in MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 Race 1 at Road Atlanta, Josh Day has taken to the brand-new #00 Yamalube/Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 like a fish to water. And that metaphor is almost literal with the amount of rain that the new team recruit has faced in his first weekend with the team.
Nonplussed by the challenging track conditions, Josh rode smooth, steady, and fast to win the race in his class, and he almost made the podium in Superbike, as well, finishing in fourth place overall behind his close friend Josh Hayes, who is the four-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion.
“I can’t thank Tryg (Westby) and the whole Yamalube/Westby racing team enough for giving me this opportunity to come out and ride their brand-new R1 this weekend,” Josh said. “I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings for us. I know the rain is usually not my strong suit, but I asked Dane for some help out there, and he was definitely there with me the whole race. Thanks again to the whole team for letting me be apart of their family.”
Superstock 1000 Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 3:20. Go to www.MotoAmerica.com, click on “Road Atlanta” on the “Schedule” link, and scroll down for the live streaming link to watch Superbike Race 2 live online.

Beaubier & New Yamaha R1 Win MotoAmerica Superbike Race 1 At Road Atlanta, Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha Teammate Hayes Finishes Second
Braselton, GA – April 19, 2015 – The wet track conditions that challenged Cameron Beaubier in 2013 are clearly a non-factor in the new MotoAmerica Superbike era, and aboard his brand-new #6 Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha YZF-R1. The Californian rode a perfect race at Road Atlanta to take his second victory in a row, in Sunday’s Race 1. Four-time and defending AMA Superbike Champion Josh Hayes, who also happens to be Cameron’s highly experienced teammate, piloted his #1 R1 to a solid and safe second-place result. It was the third 1-2 finish for the Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team out of three MotoAmerica Superbike races run so far this season.
With Superbike Race 2 scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 3:20, and with track conditions expected to be wet, Cameron and Josh will dry off, and get ready to race again.
