bLU cRU Riders Sweep MotoAmerica Supersport Podium In Race 1 At New Jersey Motorsports Park

Indianapolis, IN – September 12, 2015 – Wheels In Motion/MotoSport.com/Meen Yamaha rider Joe Roberts wrapped up the 2015 MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship on his Yamaha YZF-R6 with a couple of rounds remaining in the season, so he turned his focus to competing in the Supersport class. And, on Saturday in the rain at New Jersey Motorsports Park, Joe conquered that class, as well.

Starting from the pole, the 18-year-old from California needed to acclimate quickly to the tricky conditions, and once he did, he moved to the front and ran smooth laps all the way to the checkers.

Second-generation South African Yamaha road racer Cameron Petersen scored his best result of the 2015 MotoAmerica Supersport season when he finished second aboard his RoadRace Factory/Yamaha R6.

2015 MotoAmerica Supersport Champion JD Beach, who won the title at the previous round at Indy, finished third in Saturday’s Supersport Race, which was the Kentuckian’s 13th podium result this season. JD’s Yamalube/Y.E.S./Graves/Yamaha teammate Garrett Gerloff finished sixth.

After the race, JD said, “Looking at the forecast, I knew we were going to have at least one race in the rain. I’m glad I was able to wrap up the Supersport Championship at Indy because conditions were pretty tough out there. Joe was untouchable today. We’ll work on the bike overnight, do a little anti-rain dance, and hope for dry track conditions tomorrow.”
