MotoAmerica Championship of Utah
The fifth round of the 2017 MotoAmerica season featured a lot of drama and excitement over the course of two days at the Championship of Utah. The technical and high speed layout at Utah Motorsports Campus generated some incredible battles for victory in the premier Motul Superbike class, adding intrigue to the championship as the season reached its halfway point.
In the end, Yoshimura Suzuki’s Toni Elias added to his lead in the Motul Superbike standings with a clean sweep of the weekend, which was highlighted by a spirited come-from-behind effort on Saturday. Elias’ Suzuki-mounted teammate Roger Hayden kept the Spaniard honest throughout both races, while reigning Motul Superbike Champion Cameron Beaubier soldiered through an up and down weekend aboard his Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing R1.
