Down but not out! Bradley Ward vows to race on after New Jersey setback

Following his crash at NJMP, Bradley Ward wishes to update you all on his current situation.

Bradley Ward: “Round eight of MotoAmerica at New Jersey Motorsports Park was an unlucky weekend for us and such a shame after having a good pace over the last three rounds in my return to racing after last year’s accident. I had a little uncomfortable feeling all weekend coming back to this race and that was always in the back of my head, but I guess that was to be expected. I was feeling more and more comfortable mixing it with the guys out on track and really working hard on my racing program and technique. Unfortunately, I had an accident mid race in Race Two battling with two riders. We came together causing me to lose the front entering turn six as I was possibly a little tighter than I had been previously. I felt like I had the pace and was comfortable lapping as we were for the laps prior with the riders in front. Racing is racing and no one is to blame, it’s just one of those things. I’m currently In Cooper medical Center recovering from a shattered femur and hip as the rod bent from the previous accident-causing further fractures around the area. I would like to take this time to apologize to everyone that have bent over backwards to get me back on track, ADR Motorsports, FLY Racing USA, FLY Street Racing for giving me the opportunity to get back on the Superbike, my loyal sponsors and supporters for standing by my side and most of all my amazing girlfriend Staci and family for going through all of this again, you guys are amazing and I don’t tell you this enough. I’m getting good care and making progress in the hospital. Surgery was a success, and it looks like I will be able to make a strong recovery. Huge thanks to the whole Cooper University Healthcare staff for fixing me up. I’m in a positive place and look forward to making a strong recovery to get back to racing as soon as I am ready! Good luck to my teammates and all the MotoAmerica riders this weekend at the final round of the season, I will be watching!
