Yamaha bLU cRU Road Racers Excited for MotoAmerica Finale

Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park Hosts Round 10 This Weekend

Cypress, CA – With Cameron Beaubier and JD Beach wrapping up the 2018 Superbike and Supersport Championships one round early, Yamaha bLU cRU road racers have set the stage for a strong season finish in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend, Sept. 21-23. The 2018 MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship Round 10 finale will be held at the iconic Barber Motorsports Park, where the 2.3-mile, 17-turn road course is sure to provide plenty of action throughout the weekend as the series concludes.

Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing Superbike Team

After being crowned with his third-career MotoAmerica Superbike Championship in New Jersey, Cameron Beaubier will continue to battle for the final two race-wins of the season. Beaubier has tallied a total of eight victories and an additional eight podium finishes thus far in the series, and his Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing R1 is ready to guide him to the top of the podium again in Alabama.

For Garrett Gerloff, Barber Motorsports Park is an ideal location for the season finale, as he considers Birmingham a “home race.” While continuing to excel and challenge the competition on his Monster Energy/Yamalube/Yamaha Factory Racing R1, Gerloff has proven his potential and merit with five podium finishes to date in his rookie Superbike season.

Cameron Beaubier – #6 YZF-R1

“I’m excited to go into the last round with no pressure. We were solid with my R1 at Barber for the pre-season test, and I’m looking to just enjoy the weekend with my team after an amazing season!”

Garrett Gerloff – #31 YZF-R1

“I can’t believe that we are already at the last race of the year! Every weekend this year has flown by! But, every race that we’ve done this year has been preparing me for the next, and that means that Barber is the most prepared that I have been all year. I love the track! It’s a somewhat home track for me as I used to live in Birmingham, and I have family and friends coming to watch. I’m putting everything that I have into this final weekend and looking forward to seeing what happens. We’ll see ya there!”

Beach earned the second championship of his career by piloting his R6 to a total of 11 victories in the first 15 races. With the final two victories of the series on the line, Beach plans to battle hard in front of his hometown crowd this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park.

JD Beach – #95 YZF-R6

“Going into Barber I’m really excited. It’s basically my home race and a track I really enjoy. It’s one of the shorter tracks we race on so it’s really physically demanding. I have a ton of laps there, and my Graves Yamaha R6 should be working well there. We tested there earlier this year and learned a lot, so we’ll see if we gain some speed for this race weekend. I can’t wait to see all the fans and hope to have a great race for the last one of the year!”
