MotoAmerica: Yamaha Riders Testing At Buttonwillow

Several MotoAmerica racers were testing on their Yamahas today at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, in Buttonwillow, California.

Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha’s two-time and defending MotoAmerica Superbike Champion Jake Gagne was quickest overall with a time of 1:42.077 while riding his YZF-R1 Superbike on the 3.0-mile road course.

Westby Racing Yamaha’s Mathew Scholtz was second-best with a lap of 1:44.428 on his YZF-R1 Superbike.

Gagne’s teammate Cameron Petersen spent all of Tuesday testing the Attack Performance Yamaha YZF-R6 he plans to ride in the Daytona 200 MotoAmerica Supersport race on March 11. Petersen clocked a best time of 1:46.389.

The trio of men were joined by 15-year-old Kayla Yaakov, who recorded a 1:50.922 on her MP13 Racing Yamaha YZF-R7 MotoAmerica Twins Cup bike.

Lap times were provided by the California Roadrace Association (CRA).
