MotoDex returns to BSB with Great Dane Harms

THE Motodex Performance First Racing team will return to the MCE British Superbike Championship this weekend with Robbin Harms aboard its BMW machine. The team will contest the final two rounds of the series, ahead of making a full time return to the championship in 2015.

The squad has undergone a significant restructure since it last raced in 2013. Team owner Tony Dexter has moved all operations back to the UK after numerous years being based in Germany. However, it will continue to run the BMW S1000RR machine to reflect its Bavarian history.

A former front-runner in World Supersport, Danish rider Harms made his BSB debut back in 2012 and contested a handful of rounds last season before injuries hampered his year. He returns to the grid this coming weekend for the penultimate round at Silverstone, and admits he can’t wait to get back in the thick of the action.

“I’m really happy to have been given this opportunity to return to the British Superbike Championship, and I am excited about returning,” he said. “It’s a championship which I have always followed and loved, and to be given the opportunity to return is fantastic.

“We know it won’t be easy. We have a lot to learn in a short time this weekend, but I like Silverstone and I am confident I can do a solid job for the MotoDex Performance First team. There will be a lot to learn and with just two rounds left it doesn’t give us a lot of time, but we can hopefully make a bit of an impression by taking some decent results. I am looking forward to returning to the championship. My impressions of the team have been great so far, and everyone knows how much I have enjoyed my time in BSB before so it’s the perfect way to end the season. I would like to thank Tony and the team for giving me this opportunity.”

Team owner Tony Dexter added: “I am delighted to be able to announce the MotoDex Performance First team’s return to the British Superbike Championship, and we are thrilled to welcome Robbin to the team. He’s a talented rider who is keen to do well, and I believe he will fit perfectly into our team. It has been a difficult year, and has taken a lot of work to get the team back to where we want it to be. Last year we were hit by severe floods in Germany which took a lot longer than anticipated to recover from, and after months of soul-searching I decided to return to the UK. We’ve been busy rebuilding the business, and now we are ready to relaunch the racing team.

“I am looking forward to Silverstone as I know Robbin will be giving his all from the outset, and all of us at MotoDex Performance First are excited about getting back on track. I’d like to take this chance to thank Steve Hicken at Hawk Racing, Abbeygate Roofing Ltd, Dymag, Ian Edwards at Mode Performance and Stuart Higgs for everything they’ve done over the last couple of weeks to get us back on the grid in time for Silverstone.”
