International Team To Enter British Supersport Championship Adding to the global appeal of the series, a brand new two-rider international team will be entering the British Supersport Championship in 2012. MotoDex Performance First Yamaha is a British-owned and run company based in Bavaria, Germany and Managing Director Tony Dexter has sponsored Gearlink Kawasaki in recent seasons. At the final round at Brands Hatch this year, they fielded AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike star Melissa Paris with a view to the team contesting the full British Supersport Championship in 2012. Those plans are now at an advanced stage and the team is in negotiation with a number of riders whereby an announcement will follow once all details are finalised. The team will be using the successful Yamaha R6 model which has won the World Supersport Championship with Cal Crutchlow in 2009 and again this year with Chaz Davies. Team owner Tony Dexter commented: “We are delighted that we will be contesting the 2012 British Supersport Championship as it really is one of the best series in the world. The racing this year has been incredible and we want to be a part of it for our team and sponsors. It’s our aim to be challenging for the title so we are talking with potential riders, many of whom have World Championship experience, and we hope to be in a position to announce further details soon.” The opening round of the 2012 British Supersport Championship is expected to take place at Brands Hatch over Easter but the calendar has yet to be announced.
