TECH3 E-RACING GOES ALL ITALIAN IN 2024 AS ZACCONE IS JOINED BY SPINELLI TO FORM EXCITING MOTOE™ LINE UP

Tech3 E-Racing is pleased to finally be able to present its lineup for the 2024 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship, as another eight-round, 16-race season awaits the most spectacular electric racing series in the world, with MotoE™ set to share the stage at the majority of the European dates on the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship calendar. Alessandro Zaccone will race under Tech3 E-Racing colours for another season as he aims to solidify his results after a first season on the Ducati bike. He will be joined by Italian Nicholas Spinelli, a MotoE™ race winner, who will start his second campaign in the electric class.

Coming from a season in Moto2™, Alessandro Zaccone returned to the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship in 2023 with Tech3 E-Racing as a new era drew itself with Ducati becoming the official supplier of the electric series. We saw more electric racing than ever with sixteen races split into eight rounds around Europe, and the battles became more and more intense. Zaccone got close to the podium on a few occasions, but he never managed to transform his progress into concrete results. He took his best result of the season at the Sachsenring in Germany with a fourth position at race 1. Sometimes unlucky during the races, the Italian struggled to qualify well, which prevented him from showing his true potential during the races, even if he found more consistency in the final rounds of the season. He closed 2023 eleventh in the championship with 104 points. 2023 was the year of learnings, 2024 will be the one to fight for the good things, as the Italian will aim to feed from all the experience acquired this year to fight for podiums, victories, and a strong position in the championship.

He will be joined by fellow countryman Nicholas Spinelli who will start his second campaign in MotoE™. Born in 2001, the twenty-two year-old rider began his career in the national championships in Italy in 2010, where he got his first title in European Minibike Junior A. In 2013, he was European champion in the MiniGP 50cc, before he jumped to the CIV PreMoto3 125 category in 2014 and 2015. The following year, he was promoted to the Moto3 category of his national championship, and was crowned champion in 2017 and 2019. Following a few seasons without making too much noise, Spinelli re-appeared in Italian motorsport in 2021 as he joined the Supersport Next Generation category, which he won in 2022. That same year, he was given the opportunity to ride in the WorldSSP to replace an injured rider, and he took the fifteenth place in his first race. That caught the eyes of the VFT Racing team who offered him a full-time ride for 2023. He finished fourteenth with a podium, while in parallel he disputed his first season in the electric class, and he took his maiden MotoE™ win at the season finale in Misano. With four podiums, a victory and a sixth place in the championship, there is no doubt that Nicholas Spinelli will be a serious contender in 2024 as he joins Tech3 E-Racing ranks.

Alessandro Zaccone and Nicholas Spinelli will begin their 2024 campaign in February when the electric class tests at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve on February 21-22, followed by another test at the same venue on March 3-4. Two key tests for the MotoE™ class as the championship will race for the first time in Portugal, with the 2024 season opener set to take place in Portimao on March 8-10, 2024.

Alessandro Zaccone

“I am happy to finally be able to announce that I will continue my adventure with the Tech3 E-Racing team in 2024, because I feel really good with them. It was not easy to re-adapt to the electric class after a year in Moto2, but we worked really hard in 2023, and I think that we are ready to fight for top positions, podiums, and why not victories! I am happy to welcome Nicholas in the team, he has been very fast this year, and I am sure that we will work well together. Exciting for the new season ahead!”

Nicholas Spinelli

“I am very happy to be able to start another season in MotoE, especially with a well established team such as Tech3 E-Racing. I would like to thank team principal Hervé Poncharal for his trust, and I am looking forward to meeting my new team. I hope that we will have a great season together, full of excitement and achievements.”

“We are very happy and proud to finally be able to announce our 2024 Tech3 E-Racing line up. It is a pleasure to re-confirm Alessandro Zaccone for a new season with us. I strongly believe that success also comes from continuity. In 2023, Alessandro showed good signs of speed, he has potential to grow and improve, so 2024 should be and will be a much stronger year for him. He will have a new teammate who we are pleased to officialise amongst our ranks, Nicholas Spinelli. He is already a MotoE race winner, he is very young, and has been growing a lot in 2023, so it is a dream to have him with us. We believe that together with Alessandro they can emulate and push each other, so our target is to win races and fight for the championship. In addition to this good news, I am proud to announce that our 2024 campaign in the electric class will be supported by a new title sponsor, Motul, and I am excited about this new partnership.”
