Marcon and Tulovic to line up for Tech3 E-Racing in 2020
The young duo of Tommaso Marcon and Lukas Tulovic is set to form the spearhead of Tech3 E-Racing in the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup in 2020, competing in seven races from May until November.
The 19-year-old Italian Marcon competes with the same goal, following selected Moto2 World Championship appearances and two successful years in the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship. Likewise, the 19-year-old German Tulovic arrives fresh from his first permanent year in the Moto2 World Championship and is eager to fight for the second ever MotoE crown.
Tommaso Marcon
“I’m very, very happy to be part of Tech3 E-Racing for 2020 and I’m also very happy to test the MotoE bike, as it’s very important. My expectation for the upcoming season and also the target is to fight for the FIM Enel MotoE Cup championship and I guess that’s the target of the whole team. I’ll give my maximum to achieve that.”
Lukas Tulovic
“I’m very thankful to Hervé Poncharal and the entire Tech3 E-Racing team for the chance to compete in the MotoE Championship. I’m looking forward to this category, I already followed the races, as they are short, but very exciting. It’s impressive how fast you can go with these heavy machines, which the boys showed this year. Hector Garzo already did very well this year, so I hope I can do as well as him. I’m there to fight at the front, which is my mission and I’ll train hard for this during this winter. I can’t wait for the first tests and the first race!”
Hervé Poncharal
Team Manager
“I’m very proud and happy to finally announce our 2020 Tech3 E-Racing MotoE team for the upcoming season. Clearly, we have seen that the young riders have been performing incredibly well in 2019 and I believe this is a trend that everybody will want to follow, so I decided to do this as well. Our riders will be Tommaso Marcon from Italy, 19 today, turning 20 at the end of this year and Lukas Tulovic from Germany, turning 20 halfway through the 2020 season, so very young line-up, one rider from Italy, one rider from Germany. Tommaso finished third in the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship and Lukas scored points in his rookie Moto2 World Championship season. Tommaso is going to ride again in the FIM CEV Moto2 European Championship in 2020 and Lukas will be racing in the World Supersport Championship as well. We are very excited and believe that these two guys will be front-runners. We will keep the same team presentation and are very glad to have Total Hi-Perf on board with us for the second year in a row and we can’t wait to start testing with the Energica bike. Year one was a great challenge, producing great racing, but I believe everybody knows more about MotoE racing now, so 2020 will be even more exciting and even more professional and hopefully, Tech3 will be part of the front. So, welcome to Tommaso, welcome to Lukas!”
