MotoGP World Championship leader Jorge Martin topped the time sheet in free practice on Friday at the Sachsenring. Martin’s 1:20.584 was well under the race lap record set last year by Johann Zarco, but was more than eight-tenths off of Francesco Bagnaia’s outright lap record of 1:19.765 set in 2022. Eight-time MotoGP winner in Germany, Marc Marquez, crashed but still finished second, ahead of Maverick Vinales. Trackhouse Racing’s Miguel Oliveira was fourth.
