Andrea Dovizioso, age 32, has signed a new two-year contract to remain with the factory Ducati MotoGP team through the 2020 season, according to a tweet sent out by Ducati earlier today.

Dovizioso has been with Ducati for six seasons and is credited with helping the Italian manufacturer return to the top of MotoGP.

In 2017, Dovizioso won six races and finished runner-up in the World Championship to Marc Marquez.

Dovizioso is currently fifth in the 2018 MotoGP World Championship, but the Italian has more points now than he did at this point of the 2017 season.
