DENVER, Colo. (June 21, 2012) – M1 PowerSports is proud to announce that a Motor Racing Outreach food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans, La. will be taking place at the Triumph Big Kahuna New Orleans presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince, scheduled for October 5-7, 2012 at NOLA Motorsports Park. Riders, teams, fans and officials attending the AMA Pro Road Racing’s season finale are invited to bring non-perishable food items to the event and give back to the community. “This is just one way that we can show our appreciation to the community for hosting us in the great city of New Orleans,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “M1 PowerSports, MRO and AMA Pro Racing have hosted successful food drives in the past and we are excited to bring this tradition to New Orleans when the Big Kahuna lands this fall.” For nearly 28 years, Second Harvest Food Bank has been leading the fight against hunger in Southern Louisiana through food distribution, advocacy, education and disaster response. Donations can be made before, during and after the Triumph Big Kahuna New Orleans, and volunteering opportunities are also available for those that want to get hands on during the event week. There will be marked gray bins throughout the paddock and vendor areas for donations to be dropped off. AMA Pro teams with unopened food items at the end of the event weekend are invited to request a bin so that all leftover food can be donated to this worthy cause.
