San Jose’s Younes Wins InfineonRaceway.com Photo Contest SONOMA, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2007) San Jose’s Amro Younes made the most of his first-ever trip to Infineon Raceway during the 2006 season by winning the 2nd annual InfineonRaceway.com Photo Contest. Younes, who received season tickets to Infineon Raceway as a gift, won the photo contest with his submission from the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, May 19-21, 2006. Raceway officials selected the winning image from among the top 100 submissions from amateur photographers. Younes’ image captured four riders cresting the hill at Turn 3a; he shot the image from Turn 2. The picture was taken from a unique angle, which caught the attention of the judges. “I was so excited when I found out that I was the winner of the contest,” said Younes. “I have submitted photos in other contests, but I’ve never won. I started doing jumping jacks after I heard the news.” Younes will receive two tickets to the 2007 Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown at Infineon Raceway, May 18-20, one photo credential, and the winning photo will be featured in the 2007 AMA souvenir event program. The winning photographer will also receive an Infineon Raceway prize pack. “After the AMA event, I attended NASCAR and IndyCar, but nothing compared to the bikes,” Younes said. “Those guys ride the track like it’s an art form. It’s like they dance around the road course.” Please visit the multimedia section of www.infineonraceway.com for a selection of images from the contest. Look for the 3rd annual InfineonRaceway.com Photo Contest in October, 2007.
