New Board members appointed as MA changes continue
Major changes continue at Motorcycling Australia (MA) with the appointment of two new Board Members and the departure of CEO Dale Gilson.
After a comprehensive search for outstanding candidates to strengthen the skillsets of the new members, the MA Board is delighted to welcome Peter Goddard and Steve James to the Board of Motorcycling Australia (MA).
Peter Goddard needs little introduction to the Motorcycle racing community.
A World Endurance Champion, Australian Road Racing and multiple Dirt Track Champion as well as World Superbike & 500cc GP rider, Peter brings valuable racing and technical knowledge to the board.
“It’s an exciting time for MA. I haven’t been back in the country for too many years, but I have been in motorcycling all my life and it is a system that my whole motorcycling career came through,” Goddard said.
“My physical contact with the actual sport with many disciplines is probably the biggest thing that I add, as well as being an active club member and being on the Trials Committee, so I have some good experience.
“I am really excited to be a member on the new board – a diverse and well experience group all with a similar passion; I am really looking forward working together for the future of MA.”
Steve James is a passionate rider and senior executive with over 25 years’ experience in the Australian Financial Services Industry and is looking forward to stepping into the role.
“I’m delighted to be part of the dynamic new Board at Motorcycling Australia and look forward to helping take our sport to a new level,” James said.
“Over the coming months I look forward to meeting and working with our various stake holders and especially the riders who we support at every level.”
The MA Board would also like to thank Dale Gilson for his efforts in the past 14 months as Dale has now decided to resign from his position as CEO of MA to pursue other interests.
We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
A caretaker CEO will be appointed immediately as the Board now looks to review the management structure and announce their plans shortly.
