Motul in Motion at the Isle of Man TT Motul, a leader in motorcycle lubricants, is once again proud to be named as the Official Lubricants Partner to the Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy — the spiritual home of motorcycles and their riders. The words ‘quality’, ‘pioneering’ and ‘competition’ can equally be applied to the Motul brand as to the world famous TT race. This annual competition brings together both amateurs and seasoned veterans on the 37.73 mile public road course winding through the scenic Isle of Man. Success on the iconic Mountain course, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has been described as the motorcycle equivalent of climbing Mount Everest. Involved in all major two-wheel championships from MotoGP to Superbikes, to World Endurance and, of course, the TT; Motul considers the highest levels of competition to be a vital test bench and living laboratory for its products. One of those is the 300V 100% synthetic lubricant being used during the Isle of Man TT Festival by a number of Motul’s racing partners, including the Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing team, Wilson Craig Racing, and American racer Brendon Cretu. Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing has been victorious in Superbikes, Superstocks and the TT itself. The team will compete using Suzuki GSX-R1000s piloted by Guy Martin and Guillaume Dietrich. Englishman, Guy Martin, is a TT-legend who also provides television commentary. With his TT-winning experience, Martin has a full appreciation of the level of technology required to make it to the top of the podium. A winner of the Motul-sponsored Le Mans 24-Hours and French endurance race, the Bol d’Or, Guillaume Dietrich is making his debut at the Isle of Man TT on the Mountain course. The German-born French ace has ridden for the factory Suzuki World Endurance Championship team since 2002. Philip Neill, Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing’s team manager, sums up why his team chooses Motul above others and voices his hopes for the TT. “We are proud to be associated with such a well known market leader as Motul, given their association at the pinnacle of our sport in MotoGP. As a team we have recorded 15 wins on the Isle of Man, so we have enough experience to know reliability is as important as horsepower at an endurance event like the TT. The quality of Motul Lubricants works well with our full stable of GSX-R Suzukis, so we look forward to hopefully bringing Motul and our other sponsors additional success this year, at the world’s most prestigious international road race.” Newly signed to Wilson Craig Racing and the Motul stable of partners, Cameron Donald will also be wearing Motul colors on his Honda CBR1000. The Australian has a formidable record in the Isle of Man, being first Newcomer in 2005 (16th overall), and winner of the 2008 TT Superbike and Superstock races. Motul USA rider, Brandon Cretu of Felton, Pennsylvania; has the distinction of being the youngest American rider to compete in the TT at 26-years of age. Cretu will ride the HEL Performance/BikeBitsNI Yamaha R6 in both Supersport classes. This year, he will be one of three Americans racing at the prestigious event. Cretu is a veteran WERA racer and was the only American newcomer to be accepted to race in the TT in 2010. The 2011 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy began practice sessions on May 30. Motul USA’s embedded reporter, Anne Roberts, is covering Cretu’s TT efforts on Motul USA’s Facebook page. Roberts, also an accomplished WERA racer, will provide timely blogs about the experience.
